This weekend, Senior Pastor Jamie Allen continues the lesson series called HELP. Remember when the Beatles sang, "HELP! I need somebody... HELP! Not just anybody..."? Of course, the Beatles didn't realize that they were singing spiritual truth -- but we all need the help that only Jesus Christ can give. Over the next seven weeks, we will study several examples of how Jesus helped people who were hurting or in trouble; hopefully, as we study these incidents, we'll come to know Jesus better and depend on His help. If you or someone you know seems to be silently screaming, "HELP! I need somebody...", this series is one you'll want to hear. This weekend's lesson is "Help for the Hurting".
If you've missed any of Central's previous lessons, you can download them for free on iTunes, just click here. Bring a friend and experience this awesome lesson series, weekend worship times are Contemporary Services: Fridays at 6:00pm, Sundays at 9:15am, and 10:45am. Traditional Service: Sundays at 8:00am.
Although you can be baptized any day of the week here at Central, we will be holding special baptism services in March for those who are ready to make a public commitment to Christ. Please bring a t-shirt, shorts, and a towel to the Worship Center on Friday, March 19 at 7:15pm or Sunday, March 21 at 12:15pm. If you have questions about baptism, pastors are available to talk with you after any of our worship services.
Guys, if you can’t remember the last time you had homemade biscuits and gravy, then mark your calendar: on March 27, three dollars will buy what you crave! Marty Mills will speak on the topic The Big Ask, dealing with some tough questions, at this breakfast. Tickets are on sale now at the Resource Center.
First impressions often are lasting impressions. Our landscaping ministry needs about 6 more volunteers to keep Central looking sharp this year. If you enjoy working with plants and shrubbery, please contact Randy Sells at 242.4185.
We have 50 tickets available, $5 each, at the Resource Center for a morning of breakfast, worship, and testimonies. $1 of each ticket will go toward building a cafeteria for children in Thailand.
After a bit of trial and error, the coffee shop hours are as follows: Fridays 6:00-9:30pm, Wednesdays 5:30-9:00pm, and Sundays 10:30am-1:00pm. Bring a friend!
Stop by the Small Groups Resource table this weekend for information about three brand-new small groups! You can view a description of all our small groups at www.thenewcentral.com.
Our free web cast lets you enjoy the awesomeness of a Central Weekend Service right from your very own computer! Its easy, just click on the "Watch Live Now" tab on the top of the home page. Log in from anywhere in the world Friday nights at 6:00pm (contemporary worship), Sundays at 8:00am (traditional), 9:15am (contemporary) and 10:45am (contemporary). All times CST.
The CCC building gets used a lot. It is important to try to schedule an event at least six months in advance to guarantee the room or rooms you need are available. Call the church office to check the availability of the space you need.
Central's pastors make hospital visits Monday – Friday, but they have no way of knowing who's in the hospital unless you tell us. If you, a family member, friend, or church attender are hospitalized, please call 618.242.4185 and report to one of the church secretaries, so the pastors will know and visit.
Ever wish that you could listen to one of Jamie's lessons a second time? Or maybe just part of the lesson that you missed, or really enjoyed. Now you can! Each weekend CD copies of that weekend's lesson will be available at the resource table on Sunday morning. All single lesson CD's will be available for $3.00.
While our weekend services offer great transformational teaching, we believe real life change happens best in community. To explore our small group opportunities, visit www.thenewcentral.com/smallgroups.
The Central Prayer Team meets every Sunday night at 5:00 pm in the Prayer Room (located on level 2 of the new building). Everyone is welcome to attend!
In order to have a prayer concern added to our published list, it needs to be into the church office before 5:00 pm on Thursday. Also, please be sure to check the appropriate box when writing a concern on your attendance card. If you do not check the box marked "For Church Prayer List", we cannot include the name on the published list.
During the year, Central's pastors pray for every family in the church. Please don't hesitate to use the prayer request cards to submit your prayer needs each Sunday. We really would love to know what's going on in your life and how we can pray for you.
C60 is a professionally produced video that will be shown during services on Friday and Sunday. This fast-paced sixty second video will keep you up to date on what's going on at Central. You can also check out C60 on our Homepage.
Central loves children! However, the main worship service is not designed for younger children, especially those in the late-infant to early-elementary range. We provide excellent, safe environments for all children (infant to 5th grade), where kids can flourish. This allows parents (and those seated nearby) to worship without distraction. If a young child remains with you, please sit near an exit, and take restless children to the atrium or parents' room (southwest corner of building) where you can watch and listen to the service. Ushers can assist you. |
