This weekend in all services, Senior Pastor Jamie Allen continues his new lesson series entitled "John The Baptist, A Voice In The Wilderness." This weekends lesson is called "A Voice of Honest Doubt ", and its all about John's asking if Jesus was the Messiah or should we look for someone else. We are encouraging everyone to bring their Bibles each weekend throughout this series. Bibles are available during service to use, or to take home and call it your own! Mark your calendars for this amazing conference coming to Central on October 11, 2008 from 9AM to 2PM. Guest Speakers Mujahid el Masih and Davdid Brackemyre will present the subject of persecution from several aspects: an overview, personal testimony from one who has suffered, a presentation on Islam, a study of some Scripture, and how to get involved. Starting this weekend, Central is proud to begin the new ministry for college-age students. Austin Fuller is heading up this new ministry, called CRAVE. He encourages those who are looking for a place to enjoy worship and connect with other students to come and check it out. The worship service includes a night of an aweomse mix of contemporary and traditional worship songs, followed by about 10-15 minutes of teaching, and will conclude with fellowship. The CCC building gets used a lot. It is important to try to schedule an event at least six months in advance to guarantee the room or rooms you need are available. Call the church office to check the availability of the space you need.
Central's pastors make hospital visits Monday – Friday, but they have no way of knowing who's in the hospital unless you tell us. If you, a family member, friend, or church attender are hospitalized, please call 618.242.4185 and report to one of the church secretaries, so the pastors will know and visit.

The Central Prayer Team meets every Sunday night at 5:00 pm in the Prayer Room (located on level 2 of the new building). Everyone is welcome to attend!
In order to have a prayer concern added to our published list, it needs to be into the church office before 5:00 pm on Thursday. Also, please be sure to check the appropriate box when writing a concern on your attendance card. If you do not check the box marked "For Church Prayer List", we cannot include the name on the published list.
During the year, Central's pastors pray for every family in the church. Please don't hesitate to use the prayer request cards to submit your prayer needs each Sunday. We really would love to know what's going on in your life and how we can pray for you.

Central loves children! However, the main worship service is not designed for younger children, especially those in the late-infant to early-elementary range. We provide excellent, safe environments for all children (infant to 5th grade), where kids can flourish. This allows parents (and those seated nearby) to worship without distraction. If a young child remains with you, please sit near an exit, and take restless children to the atrium or parents' room (southwest corner of building) where you can watch and listen to the service. Ushers can assist you. |
